Print queue disabled when printer is asleep
Redhat Enterprise 4. CUPS.
We have a networked HP Color Laserjet 4550 printer that puts itself into powersave mode at night. It's becoming cranky and hard to start in the morning. When someone sends a print job and it doesn't come alive right away, the print queue disables itself. When the printer finally wakes up, somebody has to type "sudo enable <printer>". Is there some way to prevent this? Can I make it keep re-trying until the job succeeds?
(So far I have been unable to educate the users to type the magic command themselves. They all come to me.)
