Presario 2800 Infra-red doesn't work on Mepis 6.0
 

I recently installed Mpeis 6.0 on a Presario 2800, everything works fine except for the winmodem and the Infra-Red.

Any ideas out there that do not involve a hammer out there.

Winmodems sometimes need extra work to get going. It's beena while since I got mine going under Slackware. But a google search will turn up lots of info.
