Preferred Configuration for a Printer on a Home LAN Network

I have a HP OfficeJet Pro 8100. Currently it is connected to the home LAN through a wireless connection. Works fine.

I've been contemplating buying a "switch" so that it can be hardwired into the home LAN. The reason for the switch is that one computer and the printer would need to share one ethernet port. Again no issues. The printer works fine when plugged directly into an ethernet port.

Any preferences concerning which type of hook-up would be better?

Pro for wireless: obviously, no cable management issue
Pro for wired connection: maybe allocate more wireless bandwidth for other equipement but non issue if you don't print a lot

For my part, I'd let the config as this (and save the money for the switch)

Mine is wired but if the printer works in either mode then I would say it does not matter. Pick the one that is the most convenient, accessible etc.

Just trying to get some community feedback in case I am missing something. I have what some might consider to be an unjustified preference for wired connections. But the reality is that the printer is seldom used and it won't take-up much bandwidth when printing anyway. Consequently, buying a switch would be an unnecessary expense even though they are cheap. So I will stick with my existing wireless set-up for the printer. Thanks for the feedback.
