possible USB 3.0 performance issues on "old" LINUX ?

Hi!

I am using 3.4.47 kernel (With RT-patch 62).
This version does not seem to have the usb 3.0 driver xhci-hcd

My system is an x86 system with usb 3.0

happily the ehci-hcd driver (which is the usb 2.0 driver) seems to enable me access to the usb disk.

So I am left with the performance issues : Am I enjoying the 3.0 bandwidth ?

Thanks
zmau

the 3.4 kernel is not old
my RHEL ( scientificlinux) 6.4 install uses the 2.6 kernel and supports my usb3 3 TB drive
Out of the box no "extra" anything needed

if you are using a custom built OS with a custom built kernel

rebuild the kernel with usb3
