Question Possible to configure v.92 modem to disconnect when it detects a call?

Currently I use a 56K modem which automatically disconnets whenever a call comes in(although I don't know why). I have call waiting.

If I were to get an external v.92 hardware modem, could I configure it to disconnect automatically when a call comes in?

The reason I would want to do this is because Modem On Hold (MOH) does not work with Linux. Right?

I want to do this so that calls can still get through when I'm online.
