Poor graphics performance with 64 MB Card

I have an ATI RADEON 7000 (taken from lspci) 64 MB graphics card. My computer has a 700 MHz Celeron CPU and 650 MB RAM with Ubuntu 10.04. Anything graphical is slow. I cannot even play basic games like SuperTux. I think it is a graphics driver problem. Will this card ever work well with Linux, what do I need to do?

from your hardware ... it will not matter what you put on there you will NOT get any performance

with a laptop 700 MHz Celeron
a very old 64m 3d card ( and an ati at that)
650 MB RAM

my 10 year old Dell has better specs
1.94 ghz pen 4
a 128 meg geforce 2
and 1 gig of ram

so basically the problem is not related to my graphics card. it is because my hardware is too low, right?

Let's at least make sure your video drivers are setup properly. What's the output of 'glxinfo | grep -i render'? Can you show us your /var/log/Xorg.0.log file as well?
