Please help me get my sound card working

Hello everybody.

I really need your help. I know my sound card will work in Linux because the SuSE live boot runs the soundcard wonderfully, so I know it's not a hardware problem. I just don't know what else to try to get the damn thing to work.

I'm running Fedora 1. It's an SIS7012 Soundcard

The weird thing is according to the /proc/modules file it seems like everything is up and running fine. However I can't run alsamixer or any other mixer program because it says it can't find /dev/dsp.

Code:
[tapout@fedora tapout]$ ls -l /dev | grep dsp

I honestly have no idea what to do/try next, so any/all help would be greatly appreciated.
