PL2303 driver configuration

HI

I have a device having FT232-R cable working as a temperature sensor
"LM35",microcontroller is "8052" and USB to serial
converter cable FT232R.For this we have windows
driver and using "hyperterminal" it displays the data communication through serial port by displaying values. I have to do the same for RHEL4 with kernel-2.6, and for kernel-2.4 the source code is
availabe but for kernel-2.6 it has builtin
functionality for supporting USB to serial adapter
using pl2303 driver.I have to configure this device on RHEL4 .The driver that supports this USB to serial adaptor is PL2303 that is already present in kernel-2.6.when i plug this usb cable and apply command
modprobe pl2303 it can be seen in dmesg or through lsusb command.

Seeing its proper working i tried to use gtkterm but got error (vte not supported)
so i use minicom (a serial port communication program) but i donot know what to do with it.
i set the serial port requirenments(baudrate...)but......
how can i see communication through it.
waiting for reply
misbah

Once minicom is configured using it is no different then Hyperterminal.
I assume the device is /dev/ttyUSB0 and your using 9600,8,N,1 and no hardware handshaking.
