Hello Ahmed(rulezz),

Can you post the output of:

/sbin/lspci -n

for me? I may be able to help.

Thanks,
Jeff

Thanks for your reply. Waiting for your response.

Best regards

Ah, looks like you have an Intel modem - often a company will repackage a modem from another manufacturer and put their name on the box. lspci always tells the truth.

You should probably contact the helpful people at linmodems.org:

http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/#scanmodem

They created a program called "scanmodem" which will give you advice on which driver to use. If the output is confusing you can send a copy of the ModemData.txt file it creates to discuss@linmodems.org and they will help you.

Good luck,
Jeff

Dear Helmut,

I did what you mentioned and also emailed the reports. Unfortunately the email is coming back as a postmaster delievery. The message is bouncing.

Regards

helmut_hed 04-26-2006 03:11 PM

That's strange. Well, if you cannot email them you can search their archives at linmodems.technion.ac.il. Here is one recent post that may be relevant:

http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/arch.../msg01373.html

I don't know much about your modem, or I could help you better. Good luck.

Jeff
