Pcmcia / Usb / 2.6.9
Hi,
I have been running RH9 on my laptop for a while, and recently got a wireless card, so to get it supported, i decided to upgrade the kernel to 2.6.9. I configured and installed the new kernel, with usb hid support, pcmcia support, support for my pcmcia wired network card (which works fine under 2.4 kernel) and support for my new wireless network card. When i booted into the new kernel however, i am getting odd messages. Firstly, it is saying Code:
FATAL : module hid not found It then tells me that it has started pcmcia ok, however my wired network card (which works under 2.4) just never lights up. Anyone got any ideas what could be causing these problems? I compiled the kernel will full (not module) support for usb hid, and for pcmcia (including the specific drivers for my wired card) Any help would be appreciated! Edit: One other thing, menuconfig crashes at random places when i am looking at my kernel config under 2.6.9, but if i boot back to my old kernel, it is fine |
just noticed, if i check the services, it says cardmgr is stopped. If i hit restart, it still says the same :(

Anyone? :(

do what i did - ditch red hat!
Yoper has full support for wireless cards from the word go (well, i say that, you have to add prism support, but all the core is there) And it is a lot quicker and nicer than red hat |
same happens to me......
code:FATAL : module hid not found FATAL : module kebdeb not found FATAL : module mousedev not found i just compile usb-hid and keyboard, and mouse as modules ,and insmod them manually |
