PCMCIA service wont start

I am trying to install my Linksys WPC55AG however I am having problems with my PCMCIA service loading. I have searched over the web @ various tutorials but none of them seem to help. When i try to activate it in the control cencenter it wont start and under the info section it says I must configure it first. How do I do this and I need a strait step by step guide because I am very new to Linux.

I have successfully installed 64-bit Mandriva 2006 on my HP L2000 Spacial Edition (Lance Armstrong) laptop. All works great EXCEPT PCMCIA!! Unbelievable. And I also find no help anywhere. I tried the 64-bit version of Fedora Core 4 on the same machine,and it worked WITH PCMCIA, so hardware does work in Linux. Can somebody please help us? This is the frist time ever that a laptop install has not started the PCMCIA automatically for me. HELP PLEASE!
