pcmcia compact flash reader file system errors
Hello All,
I have a Toshiba Tecra S1 laptop running Ubuntu Hoary.
I have a compact flash reader which I am trying to use to create file systems on compact flash disks.
I use "mkfs.ext2 -c -m 2 /dev/hde1"
and I continue to get mixed results.
This is the error I continue to get:
badblocks: No such file or directory while trying to open /dev/hde2
This is the full output:
mke2fs 1.35 (28-Feb-2004)
Filesystem label=
OS type: Linux
Block size=1024 (log=0)
Fragment size=1024 (log=0)
496 inodes, 3968 blocks
79 blocks (1.99%) reserved for the super user
First data block=1
1 block group
8192 blocks per group, 8192 fragments per group
496 inodes per group
badblocks: No such file or directory while trying to open /dev/hde2
Writing inode tables: done
Writing superblocks and filesystem accounting information: done
This filesystem will be automatically checked every 34 mounts or
180 days, whichever comes first. Use tune2fs -c or -i to override.
Sometimes it will work no problem at all.
Does anyone have any ideas.
I know that there are no problems with the disks themselves as I can always get it to write 100% of the time with another computer.
Thank you.
