...are they the same thing? I realize this is a potentially stupid question, but I cannot seem to find a satisfactory answer. I am looking for a wireless card that uses the Prism chipset. Some are advertised as "PCMCIA" and some (way fewer) as "Cardbus". My laptop has a cardbus bridge. Will a PCMCIA card work here? It all looks the same in pictures...
Cardbus is basically a 32Bit version of pcmcia (16Bit). Most, if not all wireless cards should be cardbus (they need the bandwidth). Even if they are not, a cardbus controller can handle 16Bit pcmcia.
