Hi,

My first suggestion would be to look at Linux Modem-Howto which is in my list of suggested links: Linux Documentation Project. This is a very resourceful site for any Gnu/Linux Documentation.

Do you plan on using this device? If so then test the device to see if the driver is correct. Your uncertainty my not be warranted. Test it.

From reading the post, it seems your looking for affirmation whether things are configured and usable.
I for one haven't used a dialup/fax for quite some time. I do have the devices on hand and have setup with little or no effect at all in the past. Now, no need for the device.

I do suggest that Rute Tutorial & Exposition may be the best route at this time to have a good tutorial that will lead you to understand how things are done when using a Gnu/Linux.

Another good resource is <Linux> - Google Search. You could do a Search on LQ. I think you will find results.

EDIT: PcLinuxOS Xfce 2010 Edition, How to correctly install firmware for Devices(3-3) post should be looked at in the same way as stated in this post. Test the device and see what happens. You certain the device doesn't work? You do the same diagnosis & trouble shooting that I mentioned before. Do some Linux-Google searches, chk results and look at the howto for that device. What are the results of your tests? Use the results to lead to possible solutions.

I will not reply in the (3-3) thread since that would remove it from zero reply.
