Buying a graphics card is sometimes like buying a swiss army knife-they all have a lot of features, but what features will you really use? Also, another thing is that many people (including myself) have problems with ati. The drivers are only so-so, and that is only if you manage to install them (people have problems all the time with this- I changed disributions just for an easy to install version). In short, anything from nvidia SHOULD be easier to use. Lastly, I should say that anything PCI isn't going to be very powerful, since the bus is slower than agp (and agp is slower than PCIe).
