pci-express raedon card wasn't found

I was installing ubuntu 5.04 and it didn't recognise my pci-e card.
what could i possibly do to fix this?

Use the newer version of Ubuntu.

Mandriva wouldn't recognize my ati radeon x300 pci-e card. Suse10 picked it right up, although the version of Xorg (6.8) that's packaged with it won't do 3D hardware rendering, works fine unless you're gaming or doing 3d development.
