PCI conexant generic soft 56k troubles
Hi,
I have recently upgraded to Linux Mandrake 9.2. I was running Windows XP Professional before, but I have come into one slight problem with Linux before, but I am sure it can be fixed. I have a conexant generic soft 56k PCI modem, but i cant get it to work with Mandrake 9.2. It has it listed as an unknown item. With windows, I would have downloaded a driver and installed it, but I am wondering can anyone please guide me through step-by-step on how to get Mandrake to recognise and use this modem? Can anyone who knows a lot about Linux Hardware please help me out ad tell me what I need to do in order for this modem to work? Thanks, Sugar05 |
Your modem will not work with linux... You need hardware modem not software...
But I suggest you to try these free drivers http://www.int21.de/conexant/ or these www.linuxant.com/ I have conexant modem too... So I'll try these later too. |
They have different version for different Kernel. Does this matter?

Here is a free driver which works with kernel-2.4.22
