Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Question PC Card, compact flash

Ok, here is another one.

I have a Kodak ds (digital science) Picture Card Adapter, which in another words is a pc card compact flash card reader. Now when I insert the card, I hear two, kind of low pitch, sounds. Then right after that I do a tail /var/log/messages

# tail /var/log/messages
Feb 21 21:33:53 laptopX cardmgr[63]: executing: 'modprobe memory_cs'
Feb 21 21:33:54 laptopX cardmgr[63]: get dev info on socket 0 failed: No such device
Feb 21 21:33:54 laptopX kernel: memory_cs: ParseTuple: Bad CIS tuple
Feb 21 21:42:46 laptopX kernel: cdrom: open failed.
Feb 21 21:42:46 laptopX last message repeated 2 times
Feb 21 21:47:03 laptopX cardmgr[63]: executing: 'modprobe -r memory_cs'
Feb 21 21:47:09 laptopX cardmgr[63]: socket 0: Anonymous Memory
Feb 21 21:47:09 laptopX cardmgr[63]: executing: 'modprobe memory_cs'
Feb 21 21:47:09 laptopX cardmgr[63]: get dev info on socket 0 failed: No such device
Feb 21 21:47:09 laptopX kernel: memory_cs: ParseTuple: Bad CIS tuple

I don't really know what this means, specially the "memory_cs: ParseTuple: Bad CIS tuple" part, which sounds knd o fatal; but all I know is that for some reason it is not recognizing the thing so I cannot mount it

Any ideas here??

Thanks
Figa
