pasting the selected text with right click works strange

hi all,

the well known selecting some text with mouse and then pasting it to anywhere with right click does now work at my box. well, to be more accurate it behaves strange. it pastes the same text two, three or four times concurrently.

i have a ps/2 a4 tech mouse (what is the exact brand by the way?) with 3 buttons and 2 wheels. i use redhat 9 and it recognizes my mouse as generic ps/2 wheel mouse.

i'm not use if this is really a hardware problem but this is the proper forum to post it i guess

any ideas?

thx.
