partitioning hdd

I have two hard drives. The first one has Windows 98, and the other has Red Hat. When I installed Linux I partitioned the hdd so that Linux would only use up half of it. This way I could use the other half for extra storage in Windows 98. But now, I am unable to see the hdd in Windows, and when I look at the partitions with fdisk in dos, it does not even see the drive. In linux, with the hardware browser, I can see the free space, but i'm not sure how to partition or format it. How can I do this so it will be seen by Windows?

Did you create partitions on the empty space?

Windows will ignore linux partitions and any free space on the drive.

I would use linux fdisk or cfdisk to partition it and then format it in windows. So how is the second drive partitioned?
