Yep, been there, found and downloaded the Windows XP software and stopped, restarted here. I mentioned a desire to access the files on this cell phone without Windows, using Linux instead. Thanks anyway. May never be possible since this phone is getting old but it's worth trying for a while. I think I said I'd rather remove the memory card every time than boot Windows.

Did you look at page 28?
That page shows how to set phone in usb mode.

1 more note if you r phone is tethered it disables access to SD, check out note atbottom of page from this site.

If by "tethering" you mean serving up web pages and such I'm not, I'm just using the cell phone like a cell phone. I'd like the ability to listen to music and sync data back and forth between cell phone and laptop, PC, etc.

I've checked & it says that it's compatible with linux
You have access only after connecting device & using it's menu settings in Advanced Mode.

In Advanced Mode, you have access to all
of the features of Breeze II including the
features provided by Breeze Mode.
To move the file from the card to the
computer
1. Connect the data cable with mobile and
the computer.
2. Press Menu > Settings >
Connectivity.
3. Press Select USB Mode.
4. Select Music Player, Mass Storage or
5. Follow the instructions on your
computer screen.
note: Select Music Player when you want to
add music to the playlist in your device. When
you select Ask on Connection, it will ask you to
select either the Music Player or Mass Storage
every time you connect your device with your
computer.

In any regard to using USB connectivity it always shows a device that is designed to connect to internet, not transfer data. "fdisk -l" does not show a drive - like the memory card in the phone. No block devices, only /dev/ttyACM0, like is used by a USB dial up modem. Wrong device. So the alternatives are still remove and install sd card or use Windows XP every time.

Maybe I'm missing something after getting a lot of the same answers but I don't think I am. Thanks you to everyone. Still not marking this one solved, no.
