packard bell easynote mx52-b-018 touch pad


im using a packard bell easynote mx52-b-018, the touch pad is in an awkward spot. can anyone help me find out how i can disengage that when i plug in a usb mouse. it is incredibly frustrating. im using ubuntu 8.04 if that helps.
