OvisLink 56k Voice modem not found

Hello people,
I'm trying to configure a dial-up connection (actually I was changing everything till I realized what was happening).
Modem not found, it says, however it is able to find an UNKNOWN device called UCB1500.
I have an Ovislink 56k modem, do you know where can I get the drivers for that device so my Mandrake can use it?. Or do you know any other way to make it work?
Thanks a lot.

i had an incomatable linux modem it was only supported by windows which is quite common with the modems i brough after looking at the modem compatability list it is incomaptable and so i beought one that is.

i advise you to try a particular site which tells you if your modem is supported by linux but unfortunally i cannot remember the site. its something like linuxmodems.org.

Can another meber post what the websites called

Excuse my spelling.

I've heard there's some way of looking for it manually (looking for some port) and setting a generic driver to it, but I have not a clue on how can this be done. any suggestion will be appreciated.
thanks.
