I installed MythTV on Fedora Core 5 without any problems. I equipped the box with a Pinnacle DC10(Plus?) card I had lying around. MythTV sees it just fine, and I was able to get xawtv to pass a signal through (composite in to composite out). However, I can't get X (and, therefore MythTV) to use the DC10 composite out as my monitor. I've tried a few things with xorg.conf, but I'm having problems. I don't know if my config is wrong, if I missing a module or driver, or if I need a program to actually drive the signal out of the card.
With direction from the zoran driver site, I added the following with modprobe: msp3400, videodev, saa7110, adv7175, zr36060.
I'm getting conflicting data on which card I have ("plus" or not), so I'm not sure if I should be using
Code:
modprobe zr36057 card=1
which returns "FATAL: Module zr36057 not found.", or
Code:
modprobe zr36067 card=2
which returns "FATAL: Error inserting zr36067 (/lib/modules/2.6.17-1.2187_FC5/updates/drivers/media/video/zr36067.ko): No such device". I thought I had a DC10plus, but lspci indicates the 36057. The point seems moot since neither works.
lspci abbreviated output:
Code:
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset Family Graphics Controller (rev 0e)
01:00.0 Multimedia video controller: Zoran Corporation ZR36057PQC Video cutting chipset (rev 02)
01:01.0 Multimedia audio controller: Creative Labs SB Audigy (rev 04)
01:01.1 Input device controller: Creative Labs SB Audigy MIDI/Game port (rev 04)
01:01.2 FireWire (IEEE 1394): Creative Labs SB Audigy FireWire Port (rev 04)
It looks like my DC10 is doing something, because my RF modulator kicks in and the TV shows a rolling black screen (probably a PAL/NTSC mismatch). However, X does not start, and when I try to start it manually, I get
Code:
(EE) Failed to load module "zr36060" (module does not exist, 0)
(EE) No drivers available.
even though zr36060 loaded without error before.
The relevant parts of my xorg.conf are
Code:
Section "ServerLayout"
Identifier "Default Layout"
Screen 0 "TVout" 0 0
InputDevice "Mouse0" "CorePointer"
InputDevice "Keyboard0" "CoreKeyboard"

I'm looking for that missing piece to get my DC10 and TV to function as a monitor, and--as always--would greatly appreciate some help.
