the default behavior should be
plug it in
a notification should auto pop up stating it is mounted

a listing in Nautilus under "places" should just auto ad a listing for it

is this drive still the factory default Microsoft Windows NTFS with a Microsoft utility partition as the first partition ?

pop in a gparted CD and see what it says about this usb drive

A notification does not pop up.

I am using dolphin.

Yes, it is NTFS formatted drive and there is only a primary partition on it.

P.S.: Gparted does not start, because my hardware is too actual.

I'm not at opensuse right now but doesn't it put a usb in a somewhat odd place in an odd name. I keep forgetting it but it is not at media or mount. It is down some other folder a few folders in fact.

I want to say /var/run or some place but you'll have to double check that. I get the feeling it is auto mounting already.

If not then either your user doesn't have permission to mount or you have to manually mount it. It should be at least available to mount either in a gui or command line.

suse mounts NTFS drives as READ ONLY for all NON root users

you can add a line in fstab to mount it as RW
a better option is to write a UDEV rule and a line in fstab

that way you mount the drive by a NAME ( you can change the usb port) or by uuid

or just ALWAYS!!! use the ONE and ONLY that one port

older opensuse versions auto mounted to /media
NOT any more !!!
the current location is
/run/media/YourUserName

That is right I remember now. /run/media/(linux username)/(some name.
