One partition of external hard drive works, other doesn't
 
I have a Mad dog external hard drive. the one partition works.
But the other, the main partition doesnt.. It says "cannot mount from volume"

Can someone help me?

1. Are they the same filesystem? Which one?

2. What distro are you using? Which kernel?

3. How are you trying to mount the other partition?

4. Does the "main partition" mount on other computers or in another filesystem?

1. Yes, same.
2. Debian
3. The other partition, it just popped up. I tried doing

sudo mount -t ntfs-3g /dev/hdb1 /media/Bree -o force

but it said unknown filesystem type "ntfs-3g"


I didn't install ntfs-config

I trid.

sudo apt-get ntfs-config

it searched, and said couldnt be found.
