on board sound


how the heck do i get on board sound to work in my suse 9.1 pro system, it used to work but now it dosent what do i need to check
on baord msi mother board

Please post some specs or nobody will bother to reply. Be more specific with your problem.

Well, it's not so much that nobody will bother to reply, but rather that it's impossible to offer any useful advice if the problem description is too vague.

Harishankar is correct though; you do need to be more specific. Please give details about the hardware you are using, the system error messages, etc. Just saying "it doesn't work" is not a useful problem description. -- J.W.

How about the output of the following comands

/sbin/lspci -v

lsmod

from a terminal. This should give us the info to start troubleshooting the problem.

sorry for my lack of info i will try that comman when i get home tonight been on vacation. its a MSI mother board with built in sound on the via82xx chipset. will give more info after the command line has been tested.
