Hi guys.
I just downloaded Morphix live-cd (actually a morphix mod).
everything is working great, but it does not recognize my ethernet card...
it is an on-board 3com card, the board is ABIT IS7-E.

Weird according to abits site its a realtek nic, but you have a 3com, same one I have in fact.
try entering
lsmod | less
and see if a sk98lin module is loaded, if not try typing modprobe sk98lin then lsmod | less
again and see if it is loaded, if so, now all you need to do is assign it an ip address or run dhcpcd for it to get one via a dhcp server, depending on your specific network setup.
If is not already loaded and does not load from the modprobe, then its is fun time.

Yeah slackware 10.0 failed to load mine on my asus P4P800, but modprobe proved to work manually and I wasn't using alive CD so I just recompiled the kernel and included support for the thing.

well, that was the case. sk98lin was not loaded, and modprobe loaded it. after "ifconfig eth0 up" i managed to see the card...
now i need to know how to assign it an IP address (i'm a newbie )...
i have alcatel router, i think i have 2 options:
1) request a dynamic IP from alcatel (DHCP)
2) enter an IP+MASK+DNS+Default Gateway manually (like i do in windows).
