I'm trying to get my OKI c511 running on Slackware with CUPS. CUPS seems to be running fine, the printer is found over the network and configured but when I try to print a test page the job shows completed but nothing prints.
I did not find the exact model in the list but tried a few generic ones and downloaded a PPD file for a similar make, nothing worked.
The printer is set to a fixed IP and has IPP enabled on port 631, and I added the following lines to /etc/cups/cupsd.conf
LogLevel info
Port 631

Yes, it's likely that the driver you tried is not suitable for this model. I think switching to the foo2hiperc should work ok. I'm not a slackware user, but in an effort to assist, I did manage to download and install that driver, which I was able to complete without any issues at all. I was then able to configure a 'dummy' printer via the CUPS web interface and the Oki C511dn was amongst those to choose from.
