hey... i have problems with nvidia in suse 9.3. main problem is that the right 2-3 inchs of my screen is black, and the bottom half inch of my screen is just screwed up. basicly, those parts of my screen are useless. but the rest of the graphics work perfectly, for games and screensavers and all. why is it screwed up? how can i fix this? screenshots don't work cause it'll only take a shot of the good portion of my screen. i had similar problems in 9.2 where my screen, after the screensaver shutdown, would duplicat it self many times, making it look like i'm looking into a big mirror and haveing another big mirror behind me and the images just repeat it self.
after rebooting, it sent me to some 3rd world gui(it's not gnome, kde, fluxbox, blackbox, nothing i've seen before). I had this problem once before, and all i did was reinstall suse. this time i tried to disable 3D acceleration, since it's the nvidia drivers that are screwing me up. After that i rebooted and still 3rd world gui. So i figured i might as well keep the 3D acceleration enabled. rebooted again, but this time X wont even start. I tried running X manauly by typeing X in the command prompt, but that gave me some errors. I think it said caught signal 11?

i finaly fixed my problem. at first, i reinstalled suse without installing NVIDIA drivers. and then, yesterday, snooping around to learn opengl, i found out that nvidia released new drivers. so, i downloaded them and installed them. now nvidia drivers are enabled and not giving me any problems, yet. i'm at full and non-messed up screen, and opengl works.
