i went to the version.h file and changed

#include <linux/rhconfig.h> to

#include "rhconfig.h" (recomended by FAQ)

the result was:

[root@localhost pctel]# ./install
checking for running kernel version...** error
your kernel version is: 2.6.3
this package supports only 2.4.x kernels.
enable experimental 2.6 kernel support.
Please read the FAQ about kernel 2.6 experimental support

checking for kernel_version...UTS_RELEASE is 2.6.3-4mdk
detecting your modem...found. Your modem is a sis type modem.
compiling the driver...** error
please read the FAQ about reporting compilation problems
and report this problem.
[root@localhost pctel]#

FAQ doesnt have an answer for this...

Hmm, did you read the whole FAQ?

Also, did you check out the other sites? One of their drivers might work.
