Nvidia Dual-Head plus TV-Out

Hi
I have a dual-head system with two TFT-monitors on a GeForce TI4200. So far everything works fine using TwinView. Now I'd like to use my TV as a third monitor for watching videos. I don't need the TV to extend the desktop, just to be able to enable the TV at the cost of one TFT would be fine (as long as I don't have to restart X). It would be cool if I could double the picture from one monitor to the TV.
I tried nvtv but hat no luck. One TFT was disabled but the TV just showed a crippled, colored picture. After I switched the TV-out off the TFT also showed this weird stuff. Had to restart X.

Is it possible to configure the TV as a third monitor in xorg.conf?

Yea, it's possible. You need to setup the tv settings correctly as in the correct resolution and all that. Prolly set it up to extend your desktop but it doesn't have to be the same resolution as your main monitors. Check out the README on the nvidia website for more info regarding the exact settings.

Has anyone figured out how to connect the TV and a monitor at the same time ?? I have a NVidia 6600GT and i cant seem to be able to use the S-Video out to connect to the TV once the X-server starts. i spent 3 days playing around with my Xorg file and ended up ruining the graphic drivers soooo much that re-installing it couldnt even help me get back to the original state ( 3d accelerated blood churning:P ) and i had to re-install FC4 today. i cant seem to be able to find anything related to this problem as even the NVidia site has instructions only for XFree86 and not Xorg. can anyone make some suggestions ?

Like i said before, you just need to read the README file on nvidia's website and it explains, and does a good job of doing it, how to do that. Thats all you guys need. I dont' have the exact answers as it does vary from tv to tv what the resolution will be and all, but as for the settings it's all in your xorg.conf file that you need to edit. As for finding out the info on your specific tv it's all trial and error i'm afraid.
