nvidia driver not supporting resolution 1360x768

Hello Group,

I am using ubuntu 11.10 on my AMD Athlon, NVIDIA GEForce 6100 system. I have installed the proprietary driver for this graphic card. But from the nvidia-setting, when I choose 1360x768 span, the display stretch out so much that I can't see the applets on the right side of top panel (battery, network indicator, use login etc.). Please guide me to fix this issue.

thanks in advance.

Doesn't sounds like your monitor can handle that! What is your monitor size? Is it wide screen?

Check if you have the file xorg.conf under /etc , if not then you will need to generate it and maybe edit it, for that use nvida-xconfig command. Then after that if it doesn't set it right you will have to edit the file.
This will help with file editing:http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=26577
