nvidia driver for multiple kernels
Hi there people!
I'd like to know, if and how I can install the NVIDIA-driver for mutiple kernels. I need to use kernel 2.4.29 and 2.4.26 (for openmosix) but when I try to install it after I booted the other kernel, it tells me it has to delete the old installtion before cont.... Is ther a way to get around this? Thanks, Sascha |

the installer removes the old module by default - you can run the .run file with a flag to just build the kernel module -- try running the installer with "--advanced-options" - iirc, the correct flag ("-K"?) is listed there here's another option: http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/show...threadid=12527 |
thanks a lot, will give it a try and report :-)

Soo... I got it working!
I did it like one guy said in the link you posted: I simply copied the nvidia.o from the kernel/driver/video/-folder to my home-folder and reinstalled after booting the other kernel. It deleted the original driver and I copied it back from my homefolder... now it wokrs like it should! Thanks very much for your hint! :-) |
