Nvidia Display card problem
 

I have a GeForce FX Series Graphics card. While I was using Mepis I discovered that the card was not working so I went to the OS centre to enable it. It then had to download some software from the internet and told me to restart Mepis. I then restarted Mepis and at the end of booting up I got a black screen and displayed something like Mepis testing and told me to enter my user name and password. After doing this I read up on the booting screen and it said that my screen could not be found. How can I get Mepis working again?

I don't know mepis but I would bet you have to compile the nvidia driver...

I had the same problem with Knoppix 9.0, except it was a geforce mx4000. Really weird.
