nVidia 9300M driver incompatible with 3.2.0-17 kernel ?
Hi
I've been using a Lenovo N500 with nVidia GeForce 9300M GS Graphics Card, and Linux/Ubuntu 10.x with kernel version 2.7.xx (I cannot exactly remember the kernel version but it was something like that: 2.7.xx)
Anyway... I've upgraded to Linux/Ubuntu 12.xx and it came with this kernel version of 3.2.0-17. As far as this version of Ubuntu and kernel are concerned, they work perfectly on the Laptop.
But... I ran into difficulty as I tried to install the 64bit Linux driver of the Graphics Card. Its pre-install script has failed and I think it's related to this newer version of the kernel, or is it not?
The default video driver is not so bad, but for 1080p Videos it's insufficient, so I have to run the nVidia's driver.
How to make it? Thanks.
