Nvidia 6800ultra and Simply Mepis

Well had a friend who just tried linux a couple weeks ago show me how to install it to one of my extra 40gig drives, and i do all updates and everything works great, i go into the control center to have mepis automaticaly download the drivers...so after it does that it says to reboot so i reboot, then it just starts up like normal almost to login and the screen goes black.

do i have to install/d/l the drivers manually? if so how do i get the .tar file installed?

I thought I saw about installing the nVidia drives on there web site. It says that the 3D and the rest of it is installed using there on-line installation program.

Worth looking on their web site.

If you cant find it, I will dig out the info I downloaded at work, and paste it here.

By the way. What Distro are you using?
