I have a bit of a problem, and I can't figure it out. I recently bought a BFG Technologies Nvidia GeForce 6200 256 mb video card and I can't get it to work properly in linux. I installed it in my other windows box, and it works fine. I followed the directions from nvidia and intalled their drivers, but it isnt working correctly. I have the card module loading correctly, and X loads without errors, but the video is really really dark. Before X loads everything is fine. As soon as it loads it gets extremely dark so I have to turn my monitor brightness all the way up to even read what is on the screen. I can't find anything on the net about this problem so I am stumped as my linux hardware kung fu is minimal. Think anyone can help me? I wish I could take a screenie of it to show you, but it doesnt work right.
Hi,
I have exactly the same problem than you, actually it seems that the last nvidia driver doesn't support the geforce 6200 agp (even if the nvidia supported hardware list includes it), i saw an answer of nvidia in its forum that the 6200 will be supported in the next release of the driver.
NVidia has just released the new driver yesterday (1th June)!!!
The readme says that it supports 6200 AGP!
I was thinking to buy a 6200 AGP card...
If you tested the new driver and it works, please let me know!
