Hello, my situation is as follows..

I want to connect my laptop which i dont have a modem for to my wifes windows compute via my null modem cable i can do this successfully from my windows computer to her computer but is it possible to do with linux? the ics software i got running on my wifes computer is net for two n42.exe. to connect my windows box threw it all i have to do is set up a fake modem that is the port which my null modem cable is connected too not using any compression flow control ect... Can i do this with linux ? I have redhat 6.2 to work with atm...

I think that you can do this with minicom. See:
man minicom
