Not recognizing intergrated audio card

well after it took me a week to get the networking up(which i don't even remember fixing) it dawned on me that i don't have audio
i am running Suse 9.3 on a intel 815efv motherboard

could someone please help(i am kind of a newbie to linux i have only been using it for a month or 2)

ok so i guess it is detecting(after some fiddiling) the card and Kmix is to but when i try to play something in any app it wont play (the little slider dosen't move and sound dosen't come out)

Can you post output of both 'lspci' and 'lsmod'?
Are you using alsa or oss?
Do you have permission to access /dev/dsp? (ls -l /dev/dsp)
What does Yast tell you about the card?
