not recognizing hardware is plugged in

i have a netgear MA111 and i know that there are many forums and howto's on this site and others about how to install the drivers. well i've done that i used the wlan driver 0.2.1 pre 14 rpm file and i ran it and it installed fine. but now i was wondering how i see if it even detects that my wireless card is even plugged in? is there a message thats suppose to popup or something? is there something that i can type in a terminal to see if it detects its plugged in? i'm running linux redhat 9 kernel version is 2.4.20-8 i believe.

grep your system and boot logs to see if its been recognized. also do you use dhcp or static networking?

Login as root and type the following

grep ma111 /var/log/syslog

also try /var/log/messages, and dmesg as the last argument.

If you want to see what is happening when you insert and disconnect new devices into your computer, type "tail -f /var/log/messsages". Use man or info to understand what tail and grep does.
