normal user can not delete his own print jobs

ok, so i'm searching for about 2 hours now on google, and i didn't found any solution. i found people who have the exact problem as i do, but no solution.

this is getting very frustrating. i mean it's logical: a user should be able to delete his own print jobs, no?

i'm runing the cups server wich came with slackware 9.1. the printer is a HP DJ690C and it's working great. but as a normal user, i can not delete my own print jobs. this sux. big time.

it seems that it works using the lprm command. i was using the browser interface (http://localhost:631), but it seems that when i push the "cancel jobs" button it doesn't send the corect username (it sends a null string as username).

but i have another problem. after i cancel a print job, the printer is stil printing. it apears that the printer job is stil in the printer buffer. i have to power off the printer to trully cancel the printing process. is there a way to flush the printer buffer after canceling a print job? this should be the printing server's problem no? so why doen't it work?
