No wifi on Asus T91MT (AR9285) on Ubuntu 9.10

Howdy All,

So I have Ubuntu 9.10 up and running on my T91MT and everything but the wireless is working. The chip is an AR9285 and everything I've read online says I just need to install the backport modules to make it work, however I have done this and it still doesn't work! My wireless reads as "disabled" when I try the nm-applet. Any suggestions on what I can do to make this work?

Also I can confirm the wifi card works under Linux because it works fine under Jolicloud and Elive live CDs...

Regards
~Jeff

Did you try wicd?

I resolved the issue - it appears for whatever reason that the wifi card is disabled by default at startup and that I simply have to press function+f2 to toggle it on. Odd little bug but not a show stopper by any means.
