No USB-Stick under Damn Small Linux on Acer Aspire
The title says it: The USB Port of my Acer Aspire 1360 does not see my no-name USB-Stick when I boot with the Damn Small Linux Live-CD.
I tried to mount it as sdx (whereas x is a to d) and sdx1, also with and without the options -t and vfat.
fdisk -l only shows my harddisks and dmesg does not show sth. unusual except for an IRQ-rooting conflict between the IRQs 10 and 11.
When I boot DSL (2.0) I get the message "can't locate module block-major-2" twice while detecting hardware.
Also I tried my mp3-player-stick and that did not work either. However, both sticks work on some other systems: The 1GB-Stick on knoppix 3.8, XFLD and kanotix , the mp3-player only on the latter two and sometimes on knoppix. All tests were made on the laptop, so I could imagine it is a problem with the machine.
I scanned the internet on quick help; none was found. I even bothered the (really nice) guys in the kanotix-channel also, they could not help me.
Please remember that it is a live-cd, so read-only.
You are my last resort here...
Any suggestions?
