Question No TV-OUT on GeForce4MX440/Mandrake 9.2/KDE3.1.3

Hi all!

First my configuration:

Hardware: GeForce4 MX 440/128 MB/with TV-OUT

Software: Mandrake 9.2, KDE 3.1.3, XFree86 (don't know how to check the version I have)

Short info about me: Generally, I have never faced any problems with comps which I couldn't resolve by myslef before (using Windows-all versions), but switched to Linux lately (it's true, it's better, I have already experienced that :-)), and since I am not too familiar with it yet, still having some problems.

The problem: My TV-OUT won't work under KDE! I can see the text mode window (although it's in b&w, and it should be color, since I did set the TV properties to "PAL-B") so I can login etc in text-mode, but when I enter "KDE", the TV screen turns black.

My xf86config looks like this:

http : / / www . euromedia . max . pl / linux / xf86config . txt [PLEASE REMOVE THE SPACES]

(please note I uploaded this as a txt file just to make it easier to open, I am aware that the txt extension should not be present when the file is used on a system - by the way, the link is not active since this is my first post, and the forum just gave me an error message that I can only post urls after posting 5 posts - no problem, guess there'll be plenty of them in the future :-))

One more question: I have two links to xf86config files:
one in /usr/bin/X11
one in /usr/x11r6/bin

The first one seems to be just a link to the other directory... is this just a downward compatibility issue or what?

Thanks in advance for any tips!

Regards,

Thamar

First off: Gah. Those spaces are just evil. Why make your link so hostile to others? Took me 10 seconds to actually copy the link and remove the spaces. Ten seconds that easily could have been 2 if you hadn't inserted these spaces...
Anyways... I tried to read through your XF86Config but all it really did was hurt my eyes since half of the letters were funky symbols to me. After reading scrolling through it, bleeding from my eyes, got to the tvinview part. I noticed somethings you had there that didn't work for me when I was first trying to get TV OUT working on my GeForce 4 card so you're problem is probably just the same as mine was so here's a link to my new config file that works. (The one in the actual post doesn't work but the one in my reply does.)
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is something you don't understand over there or if you need more detailed instuctions.
