No sound using bt878 based radio card
 

I have done all the things mentioned in other posts about sound not working when using a bt878 based radio and TV card and none of them have worked.

I am running Slackware 10 with a generic bt878 tv\radio card. The card works perfectly in Windows XP. I have downloaded xawtv and installed it. The problem is there is no sound when I try to listen to the radio. I am using the cable that connects the tv card's snd out to my ac97 soundcard's line in. I have checked that the volumes are not muted.

ALSA picks up that I have 2 soundcards. 1 is the AC97 card and the other a Brooktree BT878. When I try to set the volume of the BT card I can only change the capture volume setting and not the FM or TV Tuner volumes. Could this be a clue that my problem lies somewhere with ALSA?
