No sound on headphone jack
I have no sound on my headphone jack, though my in-built speakers (laptop) work just fine. Oddly enough, this problem only started when I upgraded from openSUSE 10.1 to 10.2.

I am having problems with the same card.
http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-531478.html I have it playing a mp3 or wav from the command line but nothing in kde or any players I tried. I have some more work to do. I got tired of trying, I am going to wait and try another kernel later. |
The audio works just fine with Amarok (MP3, WMA, etc) on the in-built Altec Lansing speakers, I just don't get any output on my headphone jack. I also know it's not the headphones since they work fine in WinXP.
I read about a 'Headphone Jack Sense' and 'Line Jack Sense' option in the Switches tab in Kmix, but there is no such tab in mine. |
There's the MCP51 audio problem again.
You can see my post here on what you can expect with different versions of alsa. Results may vary given your Distro/Hardware, but they all look pretty similar: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...ighlight=mcp51 |
