Unhappy No Sound Mandrake using Audigy 2 Plat

Hello,

I'm new to Linux, and I'm trying both Mandrake 9.1 and Redhat 9.
I've been unable to get my sound to work. I have an Audigy 2 Plat.

I downloaded the emu10k1.20a driver from the web; before installing; I shut down all servers, rmmod audigy, /sbin/lsmod, compiled the driver, installed the driver, and ran modprobe audigy. I still have no sound. What else can I try?

Thanks!

By default, the sound is muted in mandrake 9.1.
Open aumix (multimedia menu) and increase the levels. Press "S" to save settings, so that they are saved for the next reboot.
