No sound at all with Kubuntu 7.10 Gutsy and ASUSTeK 82801G


So, the sounds were working great, when I was using kubuntu 7.04. But when I upgraded kubuntu to 7.10 sounds stopped working. My motherboard is Asus P5KPL-VM. I just canīt find out how to get the sounds working.
Kmix says that it doesnīt find a mixer.

As I said, the sounds worked on 7.04. I just donīt get how to make it work. If you could help me, Iīd appreciate that a lot. And if there are some other things or commands that I should add here for info, just tell me. Iīve been struggling with this for few weeks now, and I hope you could help.

Yup. The module is missing.

I had the same problem. The intel_hda driver was missing in the 2.24 kernel package. Downloading the sources and rolling your own kernel should do the trick.

Digital output did not work, though.
