No Linux driver for Lexmark P915?

Hi all,
I am having major problems getting my Lexmark P915 to work under linux. I have e-mailed Lexmark support but won't hold my breath. I am wondering if anyone knows of a driver or a workaround for this one. Raw drivers, etc will not work on this printer, I have already tried. Perhaps another Lexmark driver which is compatible with this model? I have tried a few randomly but have had no luck so far. Any ideas?

http://www.linuxprinting.org/printer...i?make=Lexmark

I answered a post a few days ago somewhere around here from a person looking for a driver for a multi-function Lexmark. We were able to get the printer to work with a driver for a different model. This may be your case as I did not see your printer listed at the above URL. Lexmark puts a penguin on the box and captures maximum value. At some point they tried to do the right thing and built a driver deveopment kit for Linux but it appears that the project is dead. The procedures for getting my Lexmark z25 to print were byzantine. Maybe the CUPS project has what you need but you can search that yourself. I am purchasing their commercial driver package as CUPS - IMHO - does a wonderful job of setting up my printing system once I locate and load the proper drivers.

Do some research and I will try and find some more info if someone else here doesn't get to it first. I have a thorough howto for my setup but it is hardcopy and I don't have the links to where I got it. Good Luck
Avoid Lexmark like the plague.

Well, Lexmark can provide a driver or get it back as not being fit for it's purpose under the sale of goods act here in the UK. I'll let you know what happens...
